Race-day pacing tool
Create your own marathon pace band
Enter a target finish time and choose how frequently to display course checkpoints. Every displayed time is cumulative elapsed time based on an even pace across the full 42.195 km marathon.
Use actual course distance markers when possible; GPS distance can differ.

How checkpoint times are calculated
Each checkpoint uses goal race time × (kilometers completed ÷ 42.195). For a four-hour goal, the expected elapsed time at 10 km is 56:53 and at halfway is 2:00:00. Splits are rounded individually to the nearest second.
Kilometers versus miles
Choose the markers printed along the course. The finish row always represents the full 42.195 km, not a rounded 26.2 miles. Every 5 km is usually a more compact band than every kilometer.
How to use it on race day
Print on paper or save as PDF, then check readability and carry or attach it securely. Remember that hills, weather, crowding and fatigue can change the appropriate effort. This tool calculates pace, not your ability to achieve the goal.
